Aritzia
Overview
Aritzia is a contemporary women’s clothing store founded in 1984 by Brian Hill in Vancouver,nBritish Columbia. The company’s stylish clothing and fashion-forward aesthetic quickly resulted in its booming popularity in Vancouver, eventually leading Aritzia to open locations all over North America.
With Aritzia’s huge success, it is imperative that their website is as user-friendly and intuitive as possible. The purpose of this report is to test the usability of the Aritzia website – to understand the pain points of the users who interact with the website, and how we can make amends to these issues in order to make the user experience as simple and intuitive as possible.

Process
- Created a user persona of the ideal user type and list of other users
- Testing limited to friends and family of test conductors
- Recognition that results may not be entirely representative
- Conducted series of tests to measure Aritzia website’s usability:
5-second test,
preference test,
first-click test administered
- Presented users with a questionnaire:
Pre-test questions to gather basic demographics and prior knowledge of the company,
Tasks to assess difficulties and pain points while navigating the website,
Post-test questions to sum up users’ overall feelings towards the website.
Outcome
Results of the study were then compiled, examined and interpreted to determine what was well-received by users, as well as which areas had room for improvement. We highly encourage the team at Aritzia to look into these specific pain points on their website and solve these issues in order to create a better overall user experience and therefore, a happy customer.
